The True Cost of Feeling Lousy

If you simply compare the cost of MRT to a typical co-pay, you may be short-changing yourself.

Calculate the true cumulative price you are paying – primary care and specialist co-pays, prescription medications, diagnostic testing, over-the-counter products, lost time at work, emotional drain, lost quality of life…perhaps money spent on tuition yet you can’t focus, purchases to mask pain like alcohol or sweets, etc.  It can add up to a high price.

When symptoms match what the testing can provide (determined by pre-screening), most people find that MRT pays for itself.

Screening and Testing for Food Sensitivities involves the following:

-Pre-screening consultation – $45.00

-Blood draw fee – $0-22.00 (depending on which lab)

-Mediator Release Test Panel – $345.00 (150 foods & chemicals)

-Dietitian fee – $55.00/half-hour (three hours total is average; includes results review, elimination diet counseling, follow up support)

-Package pricing discount available; fees for additional time and services will be assessed on a case by case basis.

-Major credit cards accepted

Depending on insurance, a portion of the blood test and some or all counseling fees may be covered.  This practice does not process insurance; however, you can request a receipt for paid nutrition services to submit to your insurance provider and/or health spending account for possible reimbursement.

Nutrition consultation for Celiac, COPD, and other conditions not necessarily associated with food sensitivities*:

-Billed at the $55.00/half-hour rate.  Receipt available for submission to insurance/health spending account by patient.

*Note that many celiacs benefit from knowing their food sensitivities, as do COPD patients with co-existing asthma.
